Ask yourself, "Why did I buy this watch?" If you are mostly concerned with the looks of it then you may want to consider treating it more like "jewelry" than a "tool".

But if you acknowledge the second law of thermodynamics, which basically says that everything falls apart eventually, you might as well enjoy your sports with it, and pay for an overhaul every few years.

As for me, I swim all the time in pools,the ocean, lakes etc. with my SMP. I do not wear it in saunas or hot tubs. I give it a good rinsing after all such use. I wear it in my woodshop except when doing a lot of painting or sanding. When I used to mountain bike, I did that with my watch also.

It is my opinion that when your "objects" start running your life, they are not worth owning.
