I, personally, wear my SMP for those activities. Right now, my Aqua Terra is my everyday watch. Pretty soon, the Seamaster America's Cup Cronograph will take that role. At that point, I'll will wear the ACC during all activities (swimming, snowboarding, flying, biking, running, etc).
I don't like to buy watches to not use them and keep them all perfect. I like buying things so that I can enjoy them by actually using them. Same thing goes for my nice pen - some people buy it to keep it nice - I bought it to use it. It's all what you prefer.
