No, that would be a normal solution. An exceptional one would be to replace your damaged watch with an even better model -- which OMEGA has been known to do in certain cases. I rememebr one person who got their SMP upgraded to a GMT over similar irresolvable service issues. So give them a chance before you come out shootin'!
OMEGA service department cannot issue refunds, as they did not sell you the watch. But that doesn't mean that they won't do their best to do you right with what is within their powers.
