Don't think OMEGA was using 'gold filled' anymore in 1981. That was mainly in the 1950s and 60s.

But then again, watch salesmen often misuse terms and give out misinformation while trying to sound more knowledgable than they actually are.

Correct. Even if you combine every site on the Internet that has OMEGA photos, you would probably have images of only 10% of the OMEGA models ever made.

The two with the best collections of older OMEGA watches are joseph-watches.com and artoftime.com.

Also, the new OMEGA Vintage Information database on the official OMEGA site at omegawatches.com has a decent amount of info on older models -- but not a lot of vintage photos yet.
