It's just as true for automatic movements as it is quarz. The 99 doller seiko automatic I got when I was a kid keeps time just as well, and the second hand swept just as smoothly as my Omega. The $120 swatch auto I got a few years back keeps time just as well as my Omega, though the second hand is slightly less smooth. That being said I sure enjoy my smp a whole lot more than, those watches.
