my first watch addiction was Rolex. I bought a new Explorer 1 for about $800 in 1982, when I was just a high school junior. I sold my entire coin collection to do it. I had numerous other Rolexes over the years to wear as well as "flip-for-profit". I got bored with all watch related stuff in about 1992 and sold all, including my everyday-watch, a Rolex GMT.
I dunno what it was, but I started noticing Omega in about 1998, and bought an SMP in Jan. 2001. I've been horologically hooked since then. I am looking forward to "Omega #2", black-face GMT. I think Om's GMT is an all-around superior watch to the Rolex GMT.
