Hey they are just like car sales people. Lie a lot, push sales, play your emotions, etc... I usually just go in there and ask no questions and ignore the sales clerk. I already know what I want and I just buy it if everything looks ok.
Don't ya hate it when they put an Omega UPSIDE DOWN in the window????? that always bugs me.
I am in the process of purchasing (pending a sale on a Rolex Submariner blue/gold - I've got the burn for Omega now!) a Broad Arrow Chronometer 3851.20.12 Went to 4 different authorized dealers and I hate to say it - all of them do not know what they are talking about when it comes to watches. I try not to laugh (how could you when they say, its water proof up to 1000yards!?!?) and just inspect each watch and get a price. Hopfully by next week I will be a proud owner of a speedmaster w/leather strap!
It doesn't stop there! I'm selling another watch to see if I can buy a.... yup AT! I'm so bad...
