Actually, there were THREE Seamaster watches released for the 50 year Seamaster anniversary. The third was the Seamaster Titanium Limited Edition. But that one is no longer available.
The GMT was never particularly hyped as a 50th Anniversary piece -- so I am not surprised nobody you talked to really connected it as that. To them, it is just a regular model, unlike the SMP Titanium LE and the Skeleton.
