It is almost always a better buy to buy the watch on a bracelet. You can immediately take the bracelet off, put it in safe storage and get a nice strap for $80-120. But if you bought the watch on a strap and ever wanted the bracelet, you are looking at $300-400 for a replacement bracelet. Generally, the bracelet version is only $100 more than the strap version.
Should you change your mind later, you'll already have the original bracelet ready to use. Or if you resell the watch, you will get more becasue not only does it have the bracelet, but it is in mint condition, too.
