For years I have loved the Omega Speed/Seamasters, and have finally come up with the $$ to purchase my first.
Recently I have found the Swatch Group owns Omega (and many other brands). This is a great disappointment as I have found that $2500 Omegas and $400 Hamiltons share the same basic internals.
Is it "worth" spending so much more for just a name? Are there any older pre-Swatch Omegas that are superior (movement-wise) that I should consider over newer models?
Please help a new guy with his first purchase. Thanks.
Juan
