Typically, you don't "trade-in" a watch -- what you really do is resell the one you have and use the money to buy a new or used model of what you want. If you do find a dealer that will take a trade-in, then you will get a lot less for the watch that you would elsewhere.

If your watch is in excellent condition, you should be able to resell your watch in a private sale for 45-50% of its RETAIL price. (What you actually paid for it is irrelevant to its current value.) So if that model has a current retail price of $1450, then you should be able to get $650-725 for it.

You then should be able to find a one-year old of the one you want (which has a current retail price of $1795) for $800-900.

So factoring in a bit of costs for selling and buying, the 'upgrade' you are looking for may run you about $200.
