All modern OMEGA watches leave the factory with the serial number on the outside of the case. Often in very tiny laser etchied numbers on the back of one of the lugs. But also sometimes on the backplate of the watch.
But it is a frequent and deplorable practice that some dealers REMOVE the external serial number when selling off surplus stock to UNAUTHORIZED (gray market) sellers. For more details, read the section on GRAY MARKET WATCHES in the CONSUMER ZONE here on Chronocentric.
