Why are watch winders so expensive? I own a seamaster aquaterra chronometer and i'm looking to buy a watch winder for it. this is because i'm in the military and cannot wear it all the time. sometimes i'm out in the field weeks (and if i deploy, months) at a time, and i need to use my $25 timex. currently, i carry my omega separately and wind it up when i have the time to, but it's cumbersome.
are there any cheaper, but mechanically reliable watch winders out there? i just cant justify spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on one of these things just because it has a certain hardwood and lacquer. i just want a plain watch winder with little or no bells and whistles.
