Re: Best Retail Negotiation

: The best discount that I could get was 20%.
: Actually, the first store that I went to had
: salespeople that were not on commission. So,
: the guy told me up front that he discounted
: all Omegas-20%, Breitlings-15%, TAGs-15%,
: etc.. But, I decided to buy my Omega from
: another store because they had better store
: policies (i.e. 60 or 90 day trade-up policy
: and more lenient return policy). However,
: this store had salespeople that were on
: commission. So, at first the lady only
: offered 5-10% off. Then I told her about the
: competing store and she was willing to give
: me the 20% discount.

Thanks JM... That's how it worked out for me. In Indianapolis, there are only 2 authorized dealers. As a matter of fact, they were with 5 minutes from one another. I went back and forth just once and salesperson stood firm at 20%. He actually shaved 15% off the top right off the bat, so I was actually hoping for close to 25%. Anyway, thanks for your input. I wasn't really sure what to expect.
