First, there is no reason a suitable battery should not be available for a less than 10 year old watch. Possibly the original battery number was discontinued, but it should have been superceeded with a different number. A smarter jeweler should be able to look up what the current correct battery replacement is for the original battery number.
The OMEGA information database is incomplete. Sadly, they don't give any indication of this, leaving some users confused why thier watch is not in the listing.

Sadly, those numbers really don't mean much to us. Nobody outside OMEGA has a way of looking those up to tell specifically what you have. So if you could post a photo, it would help.
