: anyone heard any rumors regarding whether
: this watch will replace the current 2531.80
: Bond SMP as the "official" Bond
: watch in the next film?
One might guess that OMEGA has positioned this watch as a possible contender. But the truth is that the decision on which watch Bond will wear next time will be made by the costume director for the next film... once the film actually starts pre-production.
No idea when that will be. The latest word is that the producers of the Bond films have not decided on a script OR AN ACTOR for the next film. Strong rumors are that Pierce Brosnan has done his last Bond film and may be replaced by a younger actor, such as Hugh Jackman or Heath Ledger. So certainly, if the actor in the films changes, the costume director will have to reassess the entire 'look' of clothing and accessories to fit the new image of Bond.
: Omega makes a Bond SMP chronograph that didn't
: replace the standard Bond SMP, so I'm
The SMP chronograph series came out at the same time as the regular SMP. So there was never any intention for the SMP Chronograph to "replace" the regular SMP.
