I just got that watch with the black face as a gift. It is a beautiful timepiece. Not sure what it would look like with a leather strap, though. The Speedmaster has a tachymeter and has less water resistance than the SMP. Also, while you can operate the push buttons underwater with the SMP, it is not recommended you do so with a Speedmaster. The SMP also has a helium valve, which the Speedmaster doesn't...not that you would need it, ever. I think the Speedmaster is also a little thicker than the SMP. Hope that helps.
