Re: bracelet adjustment
In Response To: bracelet adjustment ()

Andy:

Generally they charge about 5 dollars. My advice to you is to go to an authorized Omega Jeweler. They may charge you 10 because you did not purchase from them. Be wary because if they're not careful they can scratch the links or clasp. I purchased a tool for 15.00 and made some additional adjustments to my seamaster and did it w/o any scratches. 2 things to consider...1 make sure the 1/2 link is the last link adjacent to the clasp and if you have an uneven number of links the extra link usually goes on the 12 o'clock side. Good Luck.

: Hey everyone,

: What do jewelers usually charge to take out
: links from a bracelet? I am a newb who needs
: to have the bracelet adjusted on his first
: Speedmaster. I'm not too concerned about the
: price, but I just don't want to be surprised
: or feel like I'm getting ripped off. I will
: definitely go somewhere that is an
: authorized retailer for Omegas. I also
: wanted to know if there are any no-no's or
: things I should watch out for. Thanks.
