I guess Seiko's quality isn't what it used to be. I have a dive watch cal. 7T32 that has never had any problems and a Flightmaster cal. 7T34 that is another good one.
Granted, they're quartz, but they do keep excellent time. The dive watch has gained 2 seconds since April and the Flightmaster is always perfect between time changes.
The dive watch is about ten years old and the Flightmaster is a few years older.
I haven't bought a new Seiko since buying these two. Sorry to hear they are not as good as they once were.
