Something that has rounded off corners and a big clasp does not necessarily imply that it is luxurious. A thing of beauty can have clean cut lines and edges.

Perhaps you haven't owned any watches that are cheaper, but IMO the Speedmaster clasp is pretty well designed. You would have to pull pretty hard on this "girly-man" clasp to undo it by force. A flimpsy, poorly designed clasp could be found on my Seiko Kinetic bracelet, which pops out regularly. It is currently in NJ being serviced for major problems with the "Kinetic" functionality.

When I was shopping around for a watch, I made a note to avoid the SM bracelet. Too much bling for me. My Speedmaster bracelet looks pretty good with my Speedmaster.
