I'm sorry, save that for the tourists. Dear prospective Omega customer: Just hand over your your $1000.00+ dollars for our product and we will let you know whats good for you and what isn't. (You aren't smart enough to determine that on your own.)

The fact that automatic watches require periodic servicings ALONE is reason enough to provide a manufacture date. An older 'new' watch made several years ago is closer to a servicing and logically would be worth less than a younger one farther from the same point in its lifespan.

Think of Toyota telling people they will no longer will provide year/model information as it would needlessly confuse them and cause the dealers more hassle in trying to sell them.
