I'm not sure I agree. Aren't these watches built with strong gaskets in the first place, since it is obvious the user will need to unscrew the crown to wind the watch, set the date, time, etc.?

I wear my Bond SMP nearly 24/7 but I always reset the time to the atomic clock once a week and I manually wind it as well just to make sure it has an adequate power reserve. I don't think unscrewing the crown once a week is going to wear out my watch.
