Back in January 2003, Omega discontinued model 2534.50.00 and replaced it with 2234.50.00. The new one has the bracelet you discribe (and it's a better clasp in my opinion). The Black Dial GMT was released in 1998. The 50 YEARS inscription celebrates the 50 year anniversary of the Seamaster 1948 - 1998. Only the Black Dial Seamaster GMT has the inscription, but they are still using it. The White Dial GMT does not have the inscription.

-16 seconds per day is unacceptible for a new Chronometer. Assuming you purchased it new from an Authorized Dealer, I would ask for an exchange or a refund. Let the dealer deal with the defective watch you just bought. This assumes you just recieved the watch and it has no visible signs of wear on it. Otherwise, you can send it off to be serviced under the warranty. I suggest sending it to Switzerland, which should take 4 - 8 weeks to get back. Again, assuming you purchased it new from an Authorized Dealer, you have a 2-Year Warranty on it. Check into the exchange first, and feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.
