: I recently saw a picture of the Aqua Terra
: Chronometer with a White Dial and blue
: hands. Very nice! As a less expension option
: to the chronometer, and was wondering if the
: white dial is available with a quartz
: movement?
That I don't know. Their official site does not show that variation -- but that is not a guarantee that they don't make one. Though they do seem to offer the quartz in only a very limited number of variations.
: Another possible alternative (to save a few
: dollars) is to find a less expensive Dynamic
: Date. Can anyone familiar with the Dynamic
: tell me if it's as elegant as the AT line?
It is not. The Dynamic Date is a much simpler and more casual/sport design. It is modeled after a vintage OMEGA WWII pilot's watch. Case is very flat sided, crystal is flat, dial is matte black with painted white and yellow hands and the metal finish is all brushed steel. So overall, it is a great watch for casual wear.
By comparison, the AT is more elegantly countoured, uses a mix of polished and brushed finish steel, has a domed crystal, polished steel hands. Overall, the AT can be a very dressy watch.
: Is the Dynamic a small watch when compared
: to the 38mm AT?
Yes. The DD is about 36mm, so is noticably smaller.
: I'd like to get something
: nice, not sure how the Dynamic looks in
: person.
I have and love both. But for what you are describing as your needs, the Dynamic Date would not be the right choice.
