I can't speak for Omega certainly, but I have more than once spoke to Tag customer service and was told that their policy requires that authorized retailers discount 20% or LESS.
: Not true. I know of two very reputable
: authorized dealers who will give in excess
: of 30% off MSRP. These dealers have been in
: business for a long time.
: Again, not true. As long as they are an
: authorized dealer, they have no reason to
: deal in gray market watches. When you buy
: the watch from them they will stamp the
: warranty card, which validates the Omega
: factory warranty. By contrast, gray market
: dealers often don't give you any cards or
: paperwork, and often they remove the serial
: number from the watch. Further, they use
: their own repair people to handle warranty
: issues, not the Omega factory. Authorized
: dealers simply have no reason to deal in
: gray market watches.
