I also have an AT, the 42mm version, and havn't had any trouble with the bracelet coming open. Maybe your jeweler can adjust the tension on the little springs to make it tighter. If you decide to look into putting the Seamaster bracelet on it, here's is pic of a SMP that has had the AT bracelet put on in place of the original one. So, presumablly you could do the reverse and put the SMP on yours. That is, providing your AT is the middle size version as the SMP bracelet is a 20mm and my large AT has a lug spacing of 21 or 22mm.
