After looking at a Seamaster GMT in a shop and noticing how easy it is to read local and GMT at a glance, I am considering purchasing a white dial Omega Seamaster GMT to replace a Rolex GMT Master II. The reason I have some nitpicking questions is that I want to get the Seamaster GMT to use as a daily working watch.
One question (probably common) that I have is if the Seamaster GMT is stout enough to handle an impact without needing to be re-regulated.
Also, since I regularly have to cross time zones and leave the USA at night (usually crossing the Pacific and leaving anywhere from 10 pm to 1 am) and arrive in foreign countries at oddball hours, how long does it take to change the date, does it change close to midnight or does it drag out the change over an hour or two, and can the 12 hour local time zone be reset near the time the date changes?
Additionally, does anyone know if this watch is fairly easy to read in red light at night?
