The black dial SM GMT is the highest legibility watch I've ever seen. You can read it under any light condition. And its day/night bezel helps a lot. Unfortunately, the white dial is not as legible and doesn't have a day/night bezel.
Date change is fast and easy to perform. It's done as you reset the hour hand. When you fly across the Pacific and you move the hour hand backwards, the date will be set accordingly. You just don't worry about changing the date.
I've travelled a lot with my GMT and love its functionality. My only complaint is about its size, which is a little too big for my wrist. But if you're looking for a sturdy timepiece, that's the watch you need.
