Yes. I thing the biggest reason for this is that because OMEGA bracelets are so heavy, the exactness of fit is more critical.

I totally disagree. If anything, it is the exact opposite of that. OMEGA could easily be faulted for going TOO high end on their bracelets. By making them so elaborate and solid -- virtually high end jewelry themselves -- they lose a certain amount of practicality.
