Ah, sharp eye David! - interesting that you have the blue dial, too
Even though I bought my speedy new from an authorized dealer in the summer of 2002, it is actually a much older model. You could call it new old stock. My research shows a manufacture date of sometime in 1996. The 24 hour hand is different and the crown is 8-sided. I also believe the dial color is somewhat different from the newer versions.
I got a very good deal and a two year warranty, so I was satisfied.
