: When was the first Seamaster Automatic
: introduced?
1948.
: I have an Omega
: "Automatic" which does not say
: "seamaster" on the dial but only
: on the press-on case-back.
That is not unusual. Sometimes case backs are replaced with similar OMEGA parts. But unless your watch says Seamaster on the DIAL, you do not have a Seamaster model.
: The movement number is 10021912 ...
: It is a bumper automatic but I don't
: know the caliber.
That serial number appears to date the watch back to the 1944-44 time period. Which further confirms that is was not made as a Seamaster model and likely the back was simply replaced at a later date with a part from another OMEGA that used the same size back plate.
But to be sure, try using the Vintage Information service at the official OMEGA website (www.omegawatches.com) and see if they can give you more specifics.
