Thanks Derek. I appreciate the feedback. I can't understand why this is happening so frequently. I work in an "office environment", take care not to abuse the watch, NEVER swim with it on, so I'm at a loss. I guess I'll find out when I send it back, but if I need to get the watch serviced every 2 years, there must be something else wrong. Thanks again.

: No that is not right. The watch should work for
: five years of more without a cleaning under
: normal circumstances.
: First, since you haven't had the watch checked,
: you are only guessing that the same issue is
: the cause of it stopping. You are probably
: right. But still understand that at the
: moment, it is just a guess.
: Second, I'd think about what you could be doing
: that is exposing the watch abnormal
: circumstances, causing it to getting dirtier
: faster than normal. Most of what needs to be
: cleaned from the movement is microfine dust
: that gets in through the seals or crown
: opening -- often due to internal air
: pressure changes cause by temperature
: changes.
: So avoid exposing your watch to extremes of
: dust/dirt and such that might work their way
: in. Also make sure that if you have a
: screw-down crown that you make sure it is
: always screwed in.
: Also, that price sounds a little high for just
: a cleaning. Send your watch direct to OMEGA
: in Switzerland to avoid middle-man markups
: from your local jewelry store.
: Good luck!
