What? The standard service cost at the Bienne factory for current model mechanical watches is well less than half that! It is CHF 260 ($205) for watches on a strap and CHF 290 ($229) if on a bracelet. Service is needed only every 5-7 years.
Where did you get that outrageous figure of $500 for routine maintenance?
