Andy, If the AT is functioning correctly, it should stop as soon as you pull the crown out to the 3rd position and start immediately when you push it back in again. If it's doing that now that you've run it for a while just keep an eye on it and if the problem doesn't come back then I believe your thinking is probbly accurate. Hope your Dad enjoys the AT. IT's a great watch.
