I don't know anyone who weighs 300 lbs with "very small wrists". Besides, wrist size isn't the only thing to consider. You gotta consider the whole package. IMO, a 36mm watch or even a "mid-size" watch (37-38mm) looks like a boys watch on most men of size. That's why I stay away from most vintage stuff.
