Re: Experience with Swatch Toronto

I'd had my SMP 007 LE about a month when one of the 12 o'clock SuperLuminova markers came loose. I took it back to the Omega-authorized dealer who sent it straight off to Swatch. Due to the age of the watch, they requested a speedy return.

I was pleased to see it back after about a week but horrified to see a marked difference between the green colours of the two bars making up the 12 o'clock marker. It didn't look like they'd reattached the old one, but obtained a new and different colour one.

I thought that perhaps it was due to the different light exposures they would have experienced, but after a few days I could stand it no longer and took it back. It was so obvious, I felt I was wearing a fake!

A couple of weeks later it returned, this time looking as it should. In the kerfuffle of it all, my warranty card was lost - I was sure I'd handed it in with the watch, but the dealer couldn't find it. After *months* of negotiating with the dealer, I got a generic warranty card that doesn't match the two other red cards. Whether the loss was the dealer's, Swatch's or my fault, I'm not sure... I feel very disappointed I no longer have a complete authentic card set for this rare collectors' item.

To me, the fact that Swatch could return a new watch looking like that in the first place shows a very poor standard something that Omega would never let happen. It still makes me angry just discussing it.
