: the spedmaster the only watch that has
: remained consistent in the Omega line?
Even it has changed. But models do come and go over the decades.
: I guess my main concern is availability of
: parts down the road...
: about the crystals, dials, crowns, crown
: tubes, bezels, hands, and even cases?
Don't worry. OMEGA keeps a great supply of parts.
: I know a lot of us might want to have a good
: timepiece to pass down our son's, and if a
: model is only in production for 10-15 years,
: availability for certain part will surely be
: an issue.
Also, don't overthink the issue. Even models like the Speedmaster and DateJust that are made for over 50 years are improved over each decade, causing parts to be incompatible with older versions o fhte same watch. Parts for a 2004 Speedmaster won't fit a 1980 Speedmaster. Neither will parts from a 2004 Rolex DateJust fit a 1980 DateJust. So it is totally self-deceptive to think that just because a watch is still made for many decades that it makes external parts for older models of the same style more available.
