Questions about new Constellation Automatic

Hi all,

I just bought a new constellation automatic from 'Tourneau' a pretty upscale authorized dealer in New York city while visiting my girlfriend. While it was a bit of an impulse buy, I had been wanting this watch for along time (my step father had one) and was never able to find an automatic movement at any of the jewelers in northern Virginia.

The watch had one or two very minor scratches/scuffs on the omega seal clasp. The salesman said that some new watches come with 'marks'. It was from the display case and some of the other constellations I looked at had marks as well. They didn't have any more in stock that I could look at. Is this crap, or did I let my impulsiveness interferre with my common sense? The scuffs are so very minor that I really don't care all that much, but its the principle of course.

I was unaware of the 'red-dot' seal that I read about on this board. My watch doesnt have this seal - does it come on automatic constellations? I had it sized there and I suppose its possible they removed it.

So my main question is, is it possible that my watch wasnt brand new? It did come with the box, omega warranty credit card and manuals etc and the movement looks smooth. I negotiated it for $1300 ($1700 retail) which as far as I can tell is a pretty good deal, maybe too good a deal. I'm mainly worried about whether it may have been serviced before etc rather than the scratches and scuffs that will come with time anyways. I'm pretty young looking and think that people somtimes try to take advantage of that.
