The real point is not the hypothetical problems with an approach, but the real fact of does it work or not?
I see a lot of people on Internet watch forums making a big fuss about such theoretical problems. But it is all a bunch of blowhard bullcrap unless someone can provide tangible proof -- not just fear/uncertainty/doubt aspersions -- that the design fails in real-world situations.
I also see a lot of the childish mentality that whatever ROLEX does is the indisputable best answer and anything another brand does different is a reason to insult that brand -- whether there is any tangible proof or not.
Companies like OMEGA and ROLEX do a lot of work in designing hardy products. It is critical to all these premium manufacturers that they products survive in the real world. If not, then they get hit with a significant expense in warranty claims and public reputation.
Sure, they may not all come up with the same solution. But that doesn't autoamtically make one obviously perfect and the other a clear failure.

Again, all you have presented is your opinion -- for which you have no solid evidence -- that one approach is 'flimsy' and the other clearly better.
: rolex wins, omega loses. simple.
I have a ROLEX, too. And I see absolutely no evidence that the bracelets on all my OMEGA watches are in any way inferior to that on my ROLEX.
