Hello Mr Ziglar,
Thanks very much for your reply. Yes, I did try adding one half-link, but it was too loose. I had a perpetual, circular bruise on the back of my hand from the crown, since the watch would slide completely forward with the half-link added.
I see your point (and agree) regarding the weight / solidity as prime contributing factors to possible discomfort. There certainly is no stretching, as with the old Rolex Jubilee, or even the lighter-constructed (pre-SEL) Oyster, for that matter. The Bond is solidly constructed, to be sure.
I'm interested in your suggestion, re: the black-dial SMP "Speedie". This is actually the one I had in mind, when I wrote "Speedy". I know they originally made the black-dial SMP with a Bond bracelet as well (since discontinued in N.A., I understand).
So it must be the 20mm "Speedie" I'm after. Incidentally, is it tapered ? The one I saw seemed to be tapered, but I had a dispute with a colleague over this point. As for the price, $400 is not so bad, if it makes the watch wearable. Have you got a ref. # for this bracelet ?
Also, you mentioned a 38mm Rail or AT bracelet. Wouldn't they be too small for a 41mm Bond ? Or is the case/bracelet sizing not kept proportionate on these models ?
Thanks again.
