Hi everyone... :-)
This is the post the reply was intended for.
I couldn’t find it at first so I post it as a topic on different forum.
Anyway, recently while changing the clasp from the hidden lock type to the "Bond" type I had to remove one of the permanent links to make room for one removable link...
Here is the picture of the disassembled permanent link:
The 9 link pieces are held together by 3 "heavy duty" pins (1.3mm in diameter each).
Substantial force has to be used in order to separate one of the side pieces.
Even with quite crude method of disassembly the pins did not separate from the side piece, they broke-off (as seen on one of the pictures).
In my opinion even under heavy use there is almost no chance for those links to brake.
BTW, I'm looking for two bracelet pieces, one is the half link and second is the link directly attached to the "Bond" clasp and marked 32S on the back. I hope someone has them and wants to exchange them for two new full links or sell them.
Regards,
Darek
: I'm curious how the Seamaster 2531.80 bracelet
: is put together. I don't mean the links you
: can remove, but rather those you can't.
: If the bracelet would ever need polishing, how
: do they do this with the bracelet assembled?
: Are the pins holding the bracelet together
: precision ground flush with the edges so
: that they can't be seen with the un-aided

: Just curious. I was cleaning mine the other day
: and was examining it but couldn't figure out
: how they assembled it.
