Re: Omega SMP J.M Ltd Ed. -99

Cool watch!

: On another note.. I'm "juggling" with
: the thought of creating a small website
: dedicated to this limited edition watch. My
: goal with the site would be to
: "register" all the owners and
: their whereabouts in the world.

That's one of those 'sounds good' ideas that tends to fall flat. I've seen sites like that before where people registered their watch and location -- but they seemed rather silly and pointless. Who can really do anything with a list of watches and their owners? It is not like owners of a rare vintage car where the remaining owners need to communicate to find or swap parts.

So expect something like that to have vague curiousity value only. Also, as you pointed out, these watches are very rare outside of Japan. So who exactly is going to find out about such a site -- especially if it is not in Japanese -- to come and register they watches and location?

What would be best is if you can find out any further details on the watch itself and publish it for others that are interested in this hard-to-find model.
