If you are going for an omega I strongly advice the automatic over the quartz. Afterall that should really be why you are buying an omega is to add in a different kind of watch to your collection. While I was choosing for an omega I was having the same problem as you but it is really a no brainer when you think about it twice. Spending so much money on a quartz watch you might as well go for something like seiko or citizen or even casio.
Now I own an automatic smp and I beleive I don't regret it one moment but if I went with an quartz then I might still be wondering what it would be like to own an automatic.
Hope that helps. Oh now I want to own a Omega aqua terra but I will wait.
