I am trying to find out more about an automatic watch I have had for many years. It belonged to a great uncle of mine and is still working fine. It appears from Omega's website to be one of the first Seamasters. It looks exactly like the one on the right here:

Except mine is yellow gold.
The glass is a little scuffed, should I replace it? Should I get it cleaned?
I believe the serial number would be inside the watch and I would like an expert to value it. I am in London UK.
Any advice/help gratefully received.
John
