I just re-read the ofrei description and it doesn't specifically say that the coating is on the outside, merely that this cloth is to be used to clean sapphire crytals coated with the anti-reflective coating:

"The anti-reflective coating that Omega uses on new Sapphire glass crystals can be damaged if cleaned with an ordinary cloth like a Selvit cloth. Omega has released this blue microfiber cloth for cleaning Sapphire glass that have been coated with the anti-reflective material. This cloth is safe to use on all glass and plastic crystals."

So, you mat be right, LCH. These cloths may be for jewelers who work on cleaning and repairing Omega watches.
