Stopped speedmaster moon watch !

Can anyone advise me?.....i have just purchased a secondhand Speedmaster Moon watch, its about 1 year old,has the push button type clasp and strap, watch serial number 77026736. I purchased it from a dealer in Chicago......i live in the uk.....pound to the dollar exchange rate and all that made it a good price. The Problem !..the watch has been in my possession for about 1 week, and been on my wrist for a number of days, has been wound every other day or so. I have been carrying on with my usual routine, work, play and rest and the watch seemed fine,however.....last night whilst sitting on my bedside cabinet.....it stopped !!. Now....the chrono function had been running throughout the night and the watch had been wound the day before, and although i know that running the chrono constantly will reduce the power reserve,i was not expecting the watch to stop so quickly. So am i being paranoid here,or am i right in thinking it should run for longer than a day with the Chrono running?. Also, how often should i get this watch serviced,......just for general use......not space flights planned !!!.

Regards
Bryan
