I think the lesson here is that the assistant who deal with you was just a rude prat and won't be getting your business again.

You can make yourself feel better by reflecting on the fact that while he works in a jewellery store and almost certainly got a deal on his Rolex, you bought yours fair and square and probably earn more (if you're buying Omegas you must make a bob or two).

Smile to yourself and don't worry about it.
