Re: Omega/Rolex wars?
In Response To: Re: Omega/Rolex wars? ()

I used to think ROLEX made the greatest watchmaker on earth and everything else was junk by comparison. The influence of marketing was at work there.

I've still got my ROLEX GMT Master II but the only watch I wear these days is an OMEGA Seamaster GMT...After owning both it wasn't long before I decided that the Seamaster is a better watch.

: Frankly, I have never met a Rolex owner who
: didn't think his watch was the best made
: timepiece on the planet. They all looked
: down on Omega as "second rate" and
: often had the type of snobbish attitude you
: encountered. On the other hand, I and some
: of my friends have switched from Rolex to
: Omega because we like the style of Omega
: watches better and believe they are a far
: better value for the money. I never miss my
: Rolex Sea Dweller...
