Thanks for all the reply's.

I guess I was surprised by the salesman's emotional response. It cough me by surprise because the store had (notice the past tense here:-) very good reputation.

Rolex Sub is more expensive watch (2-3 times) and it has a little a better movement (1120/23 jewel vs 3135/31 jewel) but Omega Seamaster in my opinion really wins in all other regards (crystal, bracelet, case, bezel, and style).

I also find 1980-ish look of Rolex watches unappealing (whats up with that date magnifier?!)
