Titanium is noticably lighter than steel, and also substantially stronger. The 2231.80 is the blue dial titanium. This style has the 9 link bracelet, which looks really nice. The Blue Wave dial is also very nice, and looks substantially better than the plain dial.
The titanium appearance is very subdued compared to the SS, and titanium watches are very rare compared to all the brands of SS diver watches out there. I guess the choice depends on the type of person you are, and the statement you're trying to make.
